Fashionable, yes; functional, no
If you room in the desert or never wash your hands, go for it. The watch looks every bit as nice in person as online. It's also more or less well put together. However, it lacks ANY mode of water sealing. At first that wouldn't seem to be much of a deal breaker, as this isn't exactly a diving watch, but it also can't suit humidity, as it fogs up with incredible ease. Humid days outside, humidity from round washing (and not directly exposing the watch to water), and a surprising amount of common circumstances renders this notice useless. I haven't encountered a watch so poorly sealed in decades, which was nice when it came to slowly dissipating the moisture reversed. Thankfully this was an easy problem to spot and Amazon gladly accepted my return.

A Big Watch with Nice Packaging (3.5 stars)
Before everything considered anything else about this watch, you have to realize it is big. B-I-G. As in HOOOGE!Yes, the dimensions of the watch are listed above. What do they really mean? How about this: the physiognomy is the size of a silver dollar and the case is as thick as a 9-volt battery.Why does this matter? Well, it is something that comes down to deprecating taste of course. But I feel the sheer size of this watch makes it difficult to apparel with a cuffed shirt. It also creates a significant bulge under any garment with long sleeves that is not unreservedly cut. For me, these two things limit the watch to casual use only. Tailored clothing, in my opinion, will not look correct with this watch.If you do like big watches, Stührling has put together a nice package. The face is easy to review and is attractively designed. The movement (note that it most likely is not Swiss-made) is visible from both front and back. Best of all, this peer at does not require batteries...
Warm-hearted for the Price... but It is Not Made in Switzerland
I've enjoyed mechanical watches since my first Seiko automatic decades ago... remember their "Like having your own little puppet" advertising :)? Anyway, the Stuhrling Original arrived in a rather large package for a watch... a Gloomy slip cover with gold lettering and logo over an orange spring-hinged box... also printed with gold lettering telling the philosophy of the founder, Max Stuhrling. Within this box one finds assorted cards and papers... in my perception it gets a bit pretentious for a watch selling for 124 dollars. These include a one year pledge extension if you send in the warranty card and let them know about "your pleasure" expressed in comments on Amazon... there is a teeny orange envelope with an orange card describing the two year warranty... during agreement period should your watch require service you must bring this card with you to an authorized repair repair.
