Predilection the thin design
I bought my Skagen 233XLSGS a year and a half ago. I have conflicting feelings.I dislike heavy, bulky watches. I love the thin profile of this watch. It is so light you hardly realize it is on your wrist. It is very thin and generally comfortable to wear except in hot weather. In hot weather the band holds moisture next to the lamina which I find a little bothersome. The two-tone face is very attractive and it is easy to read the time. I strike one the price of the watch offers real value. You can pay nearly as much for a plastic cased Timex or Casio keep an eye on... a few dollars more gives you a really nicely designed Skagen. It's a lot of "bang for the dough".Pros:Super thin and comfortable to wear.Elicits many compliments for its looks.Accurate heretofore.Great price that offers excellent value.Cons:The mesh band is not insouciant in hot weather and gets rather sweaty next to skin.The mesh band can easily be damaged if you inadvertently...
Shiny Looking Watch
I am a connoisseur of different watches with different price points. I own cartier, rolex, invicta, patek about 60 others. Skagen is an cheap brand that is done with good taste. It looks like it cost way more than it does. I like all sorts of watches compact, thin, dress and sport. This one is just a cool watch with an air or elegance and good taste.

I bought Cartier Pasha C 35" watchman on the alert for for my wife's birthday. It came in original box with all paperwork in perfect condition. My wife's' wrist is 43", so the anticipate feet perfectly.About the quality of the watch I am not going to say anything - it is Cartier.The only thing that you need to remember that your covenant book will not have "Authorized" dealer stamp so if you are going to go to Cartier store, do not revile this fact :o)

I knock in love with this watch when I tried it on at a jewelers, it is big and chunky and sooo beautiful. I am a women who likes men's watches, this is plainly not for someone who likes delicate, thin watches. The price is unbeatable, in the stores averages $4700.... There are two reasons often assumed for this tradition. The first (and likely apocryphal) is that "IV" is a representation for "Ivpiter", or Jupiter, the supreme Roman god, and that population were afraid to invoke his name on timepieces.The real reason is aesthetics: watchmakers want to keep an resemble vertical symmetry in symbol width, and "IIII" is at better parity with "VIII" than "IV".As for "suitability" of IV versus IIII, Roman numerals weren't standardized until long after the ancient Romans. Use of forms like "IIII" and "IIX" (for 8) and "IC" (for 99) was moderately common and, at times, preferred. It's a modern convention that there's only "one correct way" to write Roman numerals.

Erroneous Numbering
I almost bought this on one's guard for for my fiance, but I realized suddenly that the Roman numerals were wrong. The four should be IV, not IIII. It saddens me that such a costly watch could have such a sorrowful mistake.

Consumer Beware!!!
Do not buy this or any other peak end watches from Amazon!!!! This is a grey market item sold directly by Amazon that is not supported by a Cartier covenant. Moreover, the watch arrived inoperable and although I returned it the same day it was delivered, Amazon has refused to accept the offer because of "scratches" on the clasp. The watch has never been worn. Please do not make the same mistake I made. Trust me, the savings are not merit it. BTW, I have purchased over 2100 items on Amazon and was shocked that they would behave this way.

lifetime genre
regurgitate my bonus on this classic + elegant, automatic-movement timepiece 11 years ago. it's opulence + loveliness remains till today! I've received countless compliments on it.this midsize appearance sits low + snug. it contours to the shape of the wrist + is perfectly sized. all the metal + links are well-ordered.. not like some of the other super-expensive brands I tried.I had this watch on everyday + the 'battle-brand' scratches show the rough wear I put it through :) after 10 years, the automatic-movement needed an 'over-lug' due to wear + tear. since this is my 1 + only luxury watch, I thought it would last forever + had not taken larger care of it by sending it for regular servicing.. it only had 1 service in it's 8th year.still extremely satisfied with this finely crafted eternal beauty!
